12 mistakes beginner travelers make

1  Packing too much - Pack your bag.. then eliminate half of your items

2  Having an itinerary that’s too packed- schedule some rest days as well

3  Not checking reviews for accommodations price shouldn’t be the only factor 

4  Booking on multiple airlines for cheaper fares works but is sometimes risky  

5  Not prioritizing the things you want to see and do (not relying on ‘Oh we’ll do that at some point’ ) -booking tickets for things ahead of time

6 Not checking the weather (season wet/dry ) 

7 Only going to tourist/ main attractions- not so main attractions, or local spots

8 Not researching customs and cultures knowing a few words in the language 

9 Not eating local traditional or street food unless you have dietary restrictions

10 Crime happens everywhere don’t be a target- be aware

11 Travel documents for efficiency and back up copies, TSA pre-check, global entry mobile pass, enough pages in your passports, visas, and/or vaccinations

12 Spending time on your phone- do it for the gram then put the phone down
